AG Air Hood
Our High Velocity Hood (HVH) is mainly used by press felt manufacturers in combination with a heated roll, but can also be used for heatsetting of dryer fabrics.
In press felt installations including a precompaction roll, it is important that the felt is thoroughly heated when entering the press nip. If heat is provided from one side only, there may be a considerable temperature difference from the surface being in contact with the hot roll to the outside. This difference can be virtually eliminated by installing an AG Air Hood, which wraps around the heated roll and penetrate the outer surface of the product with high velocity hot air.
Hot air is blown at high velocity from slots which are continuous across the machine width, resulting in a uniform heatsetting of the felt. The AG Air Hood has a considerably higher heating capacity than hot oil radiation caps, which are thermal oil heated half cylinders, covering the heated roll surface in the same manner as our hood.
Our hoods can be heated by electricity, gas or thermal oil.
10 AG Air Hoods have been supplied to the industry.
